It has been almost two full years since I last updated this site. Someday I'll be reading through old entries and will likely curse myself for leaving such a huge gap. Here's a quick summary of what I can remember:

• Got my first PS3 for Christmas last December.
• New roomates moved in. Kiefer last Janurary and Branderson the month after.
• Mom adopted a new puppy last February named Smitty.
• Mom and I went to Winnipeg last June for Joey's graduation.
• I finally bought a 3DS later that month, with Animal Crossing.
• Spent a lot of time that summer cleaning and painting the newly acquired basement space.
Joey and Merina had a baby boy last August named Brandon.
• Stayed at Justin's family cottage in Tatamagouche, NS last labour day weekend with Noel, Andrew and Dalton.
• The family visited Joey and Merina last september to see their new home and baby.
• Bought a Wii U in October, and am enjoying it quite a bit.
• Got some nice shoes for Christmas in December.
Joey, Merina and Brandon came to PEI in February for a late Christmas.
• Got to Silver II tier in League of Legends at some point.
• New roommate, Amos, moved into the basement in June.
• Changed the fonts on Fourside in July. Wishing I would update it more often.
• Played bubble soccer with some friends from work a few weeks ago, it was intense.

I'm feeling a bit nostalgic tonight for those old days of the internet, before Facebook, when everyone had to design their own site if they wanted to put their thoughts out there. The internet was so much more interesting when it was more about creating instead of just sharing existing content.

Tomorrow I return to work from a great two-weeks of vacation. Joey, Merina and Brandon were visiting from Winnipeg. They haven't actually had a Summer on PEI since two years ago. Kalon and his girlfriend, Ashley, arrived for the second week and are at my parent's house until this Wednesday.

We spent the first week in Summerside. The weather was cold and rainy so there was a lot of lazing around playing old video games in the basement, or visiting family. Joey rebuilt the basement computer with some parts from Sites & Bytes so now it's faster and more reliable than ever, even if it will rarely be used. Joey, Merina, Brandon and I went out to dad's place for supper one night, and they had birthday cards and cake for Brandon (his first birthday was the upcoming week) and Joey and I (our birthdays are next week).

The second half of our vacation was spent at a cottage that mom rented in Penderosa, out near Thunder Cove. Summer weather returned for a few days so we had a lot of great beach days, including one afternoon with massive waves. We took Brandon out to the beach quite a few times and he absolutely loved it. He's pretty fearless and wasn't intimidated at all by the cold ocean water. His first birthday was on Thursday so we had a party for him at the cottage with most of the family.

I'm hoping this summer cottage becomes a regular thing. Being there was so refreshing and likely more fun than spending two weeks in Summerside.

Gonna be real weird heading back to work tomorrow. It feels like I've been away for much longer than two weeks. Also getting up before noon is gonna be sorta rough.

For the first time in a long time I don't feel like playing any video games. I just watched some anime and now I'm streaming the upcoming Grizzy Bear album on NPR (which so far is better than I could have hoped) and reading old posts on this site which is causing me to reminisce about the past, something I've been trying to avoid lately. I've realized though that I would have forgotten many events if I hadn't recorded them here, so I'm adding a few tonight.

It has been pouring rain for the last two days, making it dark and dreary, and the days seem to be getting shorter already. I'm looking forward to snow and ice and freezing temperatures, which is pretty weird cause I think I was at the beach just over a week ago.

My thirty-second birthday was three days past on Friday. I took the day off work so I could sleep in and waste time playing games. (Maple Story again this year for some reason.) Mom, Gary and Kalon came down to Charlottetown with an awesome, home-made, blue layered cake. (I just had a piece a few hours ago from the quarter or so that is still in my fridge.) We went to the Orange Lunchbox with my aunt Kim to get some supper and ate it at my house, then cut the cake with my roommates. It was a pretty satisfactory birthday. I feel like being thirty-two is gonna be better than being thirty-one, and definitely better than being thirty.

Joey and Merina were on PEI to visit for the last two weeks of August, and a little bit of September. I took a whole bunch of time off work and just lived in Summerside at my parent's house with them. Thinking back we didn't do a whole lot... Visited with Ryan and Jeff a little bit, went to Caolan and Kathleen's engagement party (and a bachelor party) out at Argyle Shore. We did get to the beach a bunch of times, much more often than I had gone the two and a half months of Summer before Joey and Merina were here. Oh and I took a bike ride with Andrew on the trails through the Friendship Park, which I haven't done in a really long time. I wish I was able to bike more often.

Kalon also came to visit for a few weeks. (The last week of Joey and Merina's visit, and the week after.) It was great to see him again. Hard to believe this was the first time in nearly a year that we had everyone in the family together.

Tomorrow I might go to the pool for the first time in over a year. Should be interesting.

It has been one-hundred and forty-five days since I last wrote an entry. What has happened in those last one-hundred and forty-five days? Not a whole lot. The summer is more than half over, I think... I've only been to the beach once (officially) so far, but it was a pretty good day at least. The weather has been fantastic, but I just don't seem to have any urge to do anything on the weekends so I typically just stay home and play on the computer.

Over the last couple months I've done a TON of freelance website work. It was taking up almost all of my spare time, which felt pretty good actually. Ryan and I have been working on a brand new project over the last year, and we should be launching it sometime real soon. Other than that I've been doing some decent sized updates to some of our existing client's sites, like I Want to Showcase, Contact East, and the Atlantic Presenters Association.

I bought a Playstation Vita about a month ago. Hadn't bought any new toys in ages, and Jet Set Radio is gonna be released in HD on it at some point, so I decided to get one. It's a pretty cool console with lots of features, but has a few disappointing hardware and software problems that I hope Sony can fix up for future releases. I've already bought and played through several games on it and so far am mostly satisfied though. I really like that I can buy everything digitally so that I never have to carry around cartridges, and won't have to add to my already oversized physical game collection. It's funny though, I still play old Gameboy Advance games quite often. The Vita screen (while really nice) is backlit, making it pretty useless in the sun, and I like to play games out on the patio when the weather is nice.

Some sad news that I should mention too... our old orange cat Tigger passed away last month. He was something like twenty-two years old, which is pretty impressive for a cat!
